Mr. Weiner completed his undergraduate work at University of Rochester cum laude in 1971 and received his law degree with honors at the University of Florida College of Law in 1975 where he was the research editor of the Law Review. Prior to becoming a private practitioner in 1983, he was a distinguished trial attorney with the U.S. Department of Justice in Washington, D.C., handling major litigation throughout the United States.
FAMILY LAW Over twenty five years experience in handling divorces, adoption, child custody, child support, pre and post nuptial agreements, and domestic violence cases.
CONSTRUCTION LAW Experienced representing owners, contractors, and sub-contractors in drafting contracts and handling litigation in construction defect, breach of contract, mechanics lien, and mold cases.
LITIGATION Licensed to practice in Florida, U.S. Middle District Federal Court, U.S. Eleventh Circuit Court of Appeals, District of Columbia Court, U.S. Supreme Court, U.S. Federal Circuit Court of Appeals, and the Florida Supreme Court. Eligible to petition to appear in other jurisdictions.
EMPLOYMENT AND LABOR LAW Extensive background handling employment matters involving both federal and state levels. In the public sector, Mr. Weiner has represented the Sarasota Classified/Teacher's Association, New College Labor Union, and the Police Benevolent Association. In the private sector, Mr. Weiner is experienced representing both labor and management.
GENERAL BUSINESS/CORPORATE MATTERS Experienced in setting up corporate entities, limited liability companies, partnerships, drafting business agreements, including employment contracts, non-compete and confidentiality agreements.
WILLS AND TRUSTS Experienced in drafting wills and trusts, handling probate matters, and wills and trust litigation.
